Your Wedding Day
Your wedding day will be fun, magical and… hectic!! I often hear my brides tell me if it wasn’t for their photos, they wouldn’t have known certain things happened at their wedding. Like a flash, it will be over, your memories will be blurred, and you will be left with some fabulous, professional wedding images! And you’ll be thankful you have them. Because its often hard to know what to expect in all the craziness that is a wedding, we have some of your most common photography related wedding day questions answered.
Will you ride with us in our limo?
If you want, sure! We love being right there in the middle of the action because we are able to capture everything you experienced on your wedding day. Want some private time? We’re cool with that too!
Can we get the group shots done before the ceremony?
Most definitely! We always try to get as many shots done before the ceremony as possible, especially with larger groups. Even if you chose not to see your sweetie before the ceremony, we still can get a lot of the family shots done beforehand. Then after the ceremony, we can spend less time taking portraits, and you can spend more time partying at your reception!
Will you be taking pictures of me in my underwear?
Only upon request. While I like to make sure we cover your entire event, your undergarments are not necessarily a crucial part to your wedding story!
Can we get a group shot of everyone at the wedding?
As long as there’s room and time, of course! Group shots of all your guests tend to work best when you have a balcony available. Keep in mind that it may be difficult to coordinate that many people, so it takes time! I’ve also had brides request getting a quick shot done where everyone is looking crazy with their arms out. These work well and generally can be done in about 5 minutes.
How much time should we plan for the formal shots?
I tell brides as a general rule, plan for one hour before the ceremony and 30 minutes after the ceremony. The time it takes to get your portrait session done depends on the size of your group and the willingness of your participants. I also like to sneak the two of you away for about 15 minutes during the reception to get some super sexy shots!
Do I have to provide a meal for you and your second photographer at the wedding?
I must admit, we do like to eat! And a hot meal is nice after we’ve been on our feet for 8 hours. Remember, full photographers take better photos!
Will you take table shots of all our guests?
These are referred to in the photography community as “grip and grin” photos. They normally aren’t very good, and normally take up a lot of time. While we will try and get them in if we have time, we don’t always do them at every wedding. Because of our contemporary style, we prefer to get more action shots that will make you feel something when you see your wedding images.
Will you attend the wedding rehearsal?
We can add on rehearsal coverage to your wedding package for an extra fee. This way your album will not only have the story of your wedding day, but your entire wedding weekend!
Will you allow our friends to take pictures at the wedding?
Any friend or family member is more than welcome to take pictures at your wedding; however, we do request that they refrain from taking pictures during the formal portrait session. The only reason is because 30 minutes is not much time for us to get the most important shots of the day. We want to make sure all eyes are on us and our camera, not look at a friend or family member behind us. Trust me, you’ll thank us later!
Do you charge for travel between the ceremony and reception?
As long as the ceremony and reception are within the tri-county area, we don’t charge any travel fees.
How far will you travel to shoot our wedding?
Anywhere in Florida, Georgia, Texas, New York, California, the United States, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, The Caribbean, Columbia, Brazil, South America, India, France, China, Japan, Asia, Europe, Australia or Africa. Yep, I think that pretty much covers anywhere but the arctic! You guessed it, we’ll shoot there too. Travel fees vary based on distance.
What do we do if our officiant will not allow flash photography or no photography during the ceremony?
This is very common in the wedding world. Lucky for you we have great gear that takes fabulous photographs in very low light. Flash is not required for us to get great images of your wedding ceremony. If you aren’t able to take photos at all, we are more than willing to stage photos of the ceremony for your album.
If our reception runs late, will you stay to cover it?
No problem! Keep in mind, if your package does not include unlimited hours, you will be responsible for any hours over your package before your images will be released. We will always ask you if you would like us to stay before you go over your package time limit.
How many hours will you shoot our wedding?
Got an 8 hour package, we’ll be there for 8 hours. A ten hour package, we’ll be shooting for ten hours. Have an unlimited package? We’ll be there snapping away until you pass out or tell us to leave!
